Sinopec’s LNG test production station in Inner Mongolia, the first
one built in the desert, has been running steadily as the first quarter
is coming to an end.
For this project, Jereh provided skid
facilities for de-carbonization, acid gas removal, dehydration to boost
the development of wellhead gas liquefaction in the desert areas.
Jereh Provides Gas Processing Facilities for Sinopec’s First LNG Test Production Station in the Desert.
The
project is located in the westernmost desert of Inner Mongolia, where
has witnessed significant oil production rise since an increasing number
of oil wells began drilling operation. In July 2018, another well with
high-production oil & gas flow was discovered, marking a major
breakthrough for local oil & gas development.
Due to
the lack of well stations, the crude oil produced here can only be
refined in factories that are hundreds of miles away, resulting in high
transportation cost. It is also worth noting that, a decent amount of
associated gas will come out during the process of oil production.
Direct burning of associated gas will have a negative impact on local
environment.
To resolve the issues of high
transportation cost and associated gas utilization, Sinopec launched a
project to construct storage stations and gas purification facilities.
As
the contractor of this project, Jereh team adopted skid design to
overcome limitations like sand storms, troublesome transportation,
complicated construction based on on-spot investigation.
Jereh engineers at project site.
Jereh
all-skid design can save space and reduce on-spot installation workload
by 50%, making it easier for construction. Also, the all-skid and
highly-integrated design brings more convenience for transportation.
Moreover,
the advanced MDEA sweetening technolgy and molecular dehydration
technology are adopted. Jereh self-developed cold-oil absorption
technology is capable of producing valuable liquefied natural gas,
liquefied petroleum gas and steady hydrocarbon simultaneously, which
realizes local utilization of oil & gas resources while benefiting
the energy conservation, environmental management, low carbon business.
The
project was initiated at the beginning of 2019 and finished in
December, 2019, with the crude oil processing capacity of 96.8 ton/d and
associated gas processing capacity of 176.5 scfd. In the future, Jereh
will keep contributing to the development and utilization of natural gas
and playing a positive role in promoting local economies.
The project is located in the westernmost desert of Inner Mongolia.
